Banking Acumen has been led by Angus Brown, whose 20 years of experience in banking spans payment mechanisms, rewards program’s and digital delivery channels.
A network of top-performing, hands-on bankers and IT professionals has been developed, who are available to provide ad-hoc depth and width to advisory and implementation
Banking Acumen was established in 2012 to provide specialized, expert advice and implementation services to financial services businesses. Our mission is to enable innovative and easy-to-use banking services for individuals.
Banking Acumen was established by Angus Brown who has led several financial services start-up initiatives over his career. In 2000 he was one of the founders of eBucks.com, and after being appointed as CEO in 2003 he led this business for 2 years. Having taken the business to profitability, he then held executive-level positions at two banks – FirstRand Bank and Mercantile Bank.
Since then he has assisted several large organizations to enter the banking and payments domain. He was the co-CEO and COO of Centbee, which aimed to create the on-ramps and off-ramps enabling the BitcoinSV blockchain to be the best way to pay and be paid. He now runs a new company called Minit Money, which focuses on international remittances through the crypto network, with a particular emphasis on remittances in Africa.
Banking Acumen is currently a holding vehicle for various unlisted investments, that have the objective of disrupting the global FinTech landscape.
